Once your protest has ended, it is crucial to evaluate your event to ensure future successes. Assessing your demonstration allows you to change what didn’t work for you and implement the things that did.
Create a list and ask yourself questions like;
Did I choose the right time of day?
If not what time would have been better?
Was the location Ideal?
Were there any unwanted incidents?
Were law enforcement officers present?
Did I market my event correctly?
How many people attended?
Did I document my protest?
Was my protest an overall success?
Your evaluation list will be an essential tool for marking your progress and securing the future success of your campaigns.
If you’re new at protesting, don’t be intimidated. You will meet wonderful people who care about the issues that matter to you. For every negative response, you’ll likely encounter dozens more positive ones and that will inspire you to keep showing up to use your voice for good.
It only takes one person to make a difference. One protest can change your whole perspective.
